Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
Sometimes a country’s condition, due to ongoing war, environmental disaster or other extraordinary circumstance, prevents the country’s nationals from returning safely. During these times, the Secretary of Homeland Security has designated a foreign country for Temporary Protected Status, otherwise known as TPS.
TPS is a temporary benefit that does not lead to lawful permanent resident status (green card) or give any other immigration status. Please contact our office for a consultation to see if your home country is currently under protected status and if you and/or your family members qualify for TPS.
